So much for the theory that the Republican Party has written off Conrad Burns.
Cheney was awesome last night. Here is some of what he said.
"The stakes of this campaign are high," Cheney said. "The stakes are high for America's prosperity. The stakes are high for America's security, and the stakes are high for America's families."
He said voters had the choice between "paying higher taxes or lower taxes," and "determining whether this government will remain strong and resolute on the war on terror or falls into confusion, doubts and indecision."
"This country must reject any strategy of resignation or defeatism in the war on terror,"
"It's a mixed bag in the Senate," Cheney said. "One of the senators I like and respect the most is Conrad Burns. I look forward to swearing him in for another term in the U.S. Senate."
And one of my favorites in reference to John Kerry's recent remarks."Of course, now Senator Kerry says he was just making a joke, and he botched it up," Cheney told the crowd. "I guess we didn't get the nuance. He was for the joke before he was against it."
