Obama Disrespects Seal Team Six in Their Dignified Transfer

I'm lucky I even heard about this.  I went back to do a little research about the Picture of the Day that the White House released of Obama saluting the fallen Seal Team Six during their Dignified Transfer and had a great deal of trouble finding anything.  It may be my search terms but I tried several and almost nothing came up.

The remains of 30 Americans who were shot down in Afghanistan arrived at Dover Air Force Base last Tuesday in what the military is calling Dignified Transfer.  Obama rushed - from another vacation or party - to the base for a photo op.  The Pentagon banned media coverage and 19 of the 30 families said they did not want any pictures taken.  Obama, not to be swayed, made sure there was a photographer with him and published the photo anyway.

There are two issues here.  First Obama completely disrespected the brave servicemen by ignoring the wishes of their families and the Pentagon.  I know he is the Commander and Chief and can over ride the Pentagon but what a lack of class and decorum.  Second, the MSM pretty much has ignored the whole episode.  I can understand the second point with the MSM because there is just so much that Obama is messing up it is difficult for them to report all of it but the first point it unforgivable.

To make matters worse, the White House argued the picture was released "in the interest of transparency."  A  laughable claim especially when considering how they govern and jam their policies down our throats.

The man has no respect for the military but is desperate to use them to advance his image.  See the killing of OBL and now this situation.

Obama Reverses Clinton's "Don't Ask Don't Tell" Policy

President Obama reversed his fellow Democrat Clinton's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"  policy.  By doing this, openly gay people will now be able to join the Armed Forces without fear of being discharged for being gay.

Was this really an issue that is deserving of all the press?  Are there really that many homosexuals wanting to join the Armed Forces?  As my hero, Rush wondered on his radio show yesterday, will there be a huge increase in enlistments now?  Are there huge numbers of gays lining up ready to join and protect our country?

The answer to these questions is no.  The real reason Liberals want this policy so bad and Obama was so quick to sign it is that they know it will hurt our Armed Forces. Recruitment and retention will drop significantly as morale will suffer.  Liberals hate the Military and anything they can do to destroy or weaken it they are 100% for.

So congratulations, Liberals.  This, in the long run, will only make your ideology weaker as more and more people see what you really stand for.

Harry Reid & MSM Trying to take Credit for Rush's Ebay Record

The "phony soldier" letter Harry Reid and 41 Democrat Senators, including Baucus and Tester, sent to the Clear Channel CEO that Rush put up for bid on Ebay has made $2,100,000 for the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation. Rush has matched that amount which give the MCLEF a grand total of $4,200,000!

The amazing thing now is Harry Reid and the MSM are trying to give the Democrats credit for raising the money!

Reid said this on the floor of the Senate: (emphasis mine)

"But without qualification Mark May, the owner of the network that has Rush Limbaugh, and Rush Limbaugh should know that this letter that they're auctioning is going to be something that raises money for a worthwhile cause. I don't know what we could do more important than helping to ensure that children of our fallen soldiers and police officers who have fallen in the line of duty have the opportunity for their children to have a good education," he said.

The bidding ends at 1:00p.m. No mater what, Democrats are going to make a ton of money for a charity off their political vitriol.

So in typical Liberal fashion, they are trying to take credit for something without having to "pay" for it themselves.

Come on Reid, Baucus and Tester, cowboy up and show your support by matching the $2,100,000 like Rush did!

Rush has put the original letter from Harry Reid and 41 Democrat Senators to the CEO of Clear Channel asking for Rush to apologize for the phony soldiers controversy up for bid on ebay.

As of this post, the high bid is $40,2000. All of the money will go to the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation which Rush has been a board member for many years.

Rush also issued the following challenge to the 41 Senators who signed the letter.

Every dollar raised, however much it ends up being, is going to go to Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation. And I would like to issue this challenge to Senator Reid and the 41 senators who signed his letter. You say you support the military. You say you're big, and you think it's patriotic, and that I was unpatriotic. Well, I would like for each of you, Senator Reid, and the 40 Senators who signed, to match whatever the winning bid is. Show us your support for the US military by all 41 of you pro-military people, Democrats in the Senate, match whatever the winning bid is and send that amount to the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation.

Did Rush Call US Soldier a Suicide Bomber? No.

Note: Since I upset Colby and Wulfgar with my podcast the other day, I want to respond to some of their points in separate posts. I'll start with the claim that Rush called the soldier in the VoteVets.org commercial a suicide bomber.

Media Matters , the MSM and the Left continue to attack Rush and lie and misrepresent his words. The latest is the claim that Rush called Brian McGough, the soldier in the Vote Vets.org ad, a suicide bomber. Media Matters actually quotes Rush correctly. (emphasis mine)

You know, this is such a blatant use of a valiant combat veteran, lying to him about what I said, then strapping those lies to his belt, sending him out via the media in a TV ad to walk into as many people as he can walk into.

This man will always be a hero to this country with everyone. Whoever pumped him full of these lies about what I said and embarrassed him with this ad has betrayed him. They're not hurting me, they're betraying this soldier. Now, unless he actually believes what he's saying, in which case it's just so unfortunate and sad when the truth of what I said is right out there to be learned.

So where exactly does Rush call Mr. McGough a Suicide Bomber??? Sure, he uses the analogy of a suicide bomber to describe what VoteVets.org/MoveOn.org etc. are doing to this valiant combat veteran. But he never calls him a suicide bomber like Mr. McGough himself claims.

“So, Rush Limbaugh called me a ‘suicide bomber,’ said the anti-war veteran. "More slander from the high and mighty sitting in his chair nursing the boils on his ass. I can assure you that I am no suicide bomber and that I can think for myself.’’

So, Wulfgar, you claim Rush called Brian McGough a suicide bomber. I ask you to show me the evidence.

So You Think You Can Dance "Supports The Troops"

The "Conservative" Fox Network had an episode of So You Think You Can Dance that had 10 anti war dance solos as part of the competition. Of course it's art so it's immune to criticism according to executive producer Nigel Lythgoe.

"Art should be allowed to make statements," he said.

I wonder if next week, they will do a pro-war anti-terrorism episode.

In addition, choreographer, Mia Michaels showed her "support of the troops" by wearing a Marine Corps Dress Blues blouse with lance corporal chevrons upside down and in the incorrect location on the sleeve. She claims that she had no idea. Emphasis mine.

"Emmy-nominated choreographer Mia Michaels thought she was going to have a wonderful day. She woke up this morning to find hundreds of messages posted on her website. "And I thought, wow, I must've been a really good judge last night," says Michaels.

But then she opened the messages and was shocked by their tone and content. "It was hate mail," she says simply. "Saying things like, 'You should be ashamed of yourself.' It was really intense. It was awful."

The writers were responding to a jacket worn by Michaels on Wednesday's show. She had no idea that anyone would be offended by it, she says. She simply thought she was being fashionable by wearing a navy blue military jacket that happened to have a Marine emblem, upside down, on the sleeves. After hearing the feedback, Michaels tried to make amends on the air. "I understand why people were upset and I respect that," she says. "That symbol is sacred to the Marines, it's what they earned. The problem needed to be addressed and I'm glad we addressed it. That's why I made a public apology."

So let me get this straight, the show does an episode with 10 anti-war dances and during the show, Mia Michaels wears a Marine Dress Blues blouse with upside down insignia, and we're supposed to believe that it was a mistake? Give me a break. It was a deliberate and planned insult to the men and women of the Marine Corps.

It's been a crazy day. I've spent most of it on my computer debating with the folks at Montana Netroots. Thank goodness my boss is off today. I'll have to catch up on Monday.

I gotta go meet the wife and kids for dinner. Tomorrow, we're going to Fort Missoula to visit the traveling Viet Nam Memorial.

I hope I can still do that even though I didn't serve...

Local Midshipman A Hero

A young man from Florence/Stevensville who is attending Annapolis was a hero the other day when he ran to the aid of a Secret Service agent who was shot while trying to stop a gunfight at an Annapolis mall.

Sounds like Midshipman Rourke Baldwin is an impressive young man. A fellow Montanan we can all be proud of.

I wonder if John Kerry would be impressed?

Cpl. Jason Dunham, Medal of Honor

From USA Today:

In April 2004, Dunham, a 22-year-old corporal, received a report that a Marine convoy had been ambushed, according to a Marine Corps account. Dunham led his men to the site near Husaybah, halting a convoy of departing cars. An insurgent in one of the vehicles grabbed him by the throat when he went to search the car and the two fought. A grenade was dropped, and Dunham covered the explosive with his Kevlar helmet, which along with his chest plate absorbed some of the blast.

He died a few days later.

"I've lost my son but he became a part of history," Dunham's mother, Deb, said after the ceremony. "It still hurts as a parent, but the pride that you have from knowing he did the right thing makes it easier."

Tester Comments on Kerry's Remarks

Jon Tester weighed in on John Kerry's remarks that insulted our Military Troops.

The remarks were "poorly worded and just plain stupid." Montana Democratic Senate candidate Jon Tester, battling to oust Sen. Conrad Burns, R-Mont.

Not much of repudiation. What does Tester think of the content of what Kerry actually said? We all know that Kerry screwed up but it is clear this is what Kerry and his legion of Liberal Elites actually think of our Military.

Is this what Jon Tester thinks as well? I think he does.

Update: It took Tester three days to respond. This means he issued his response for political reasons, not because he was outraged.

I would like to know if Jon Tester supports or condems Sen. Kerry's remarks about our troops.
